Wayne Williams drove 600 miles to listen to Game 7 of the World Series at his Dad’s grave. keeping a promise they had made over 20 years ago.
His Father, according to The Chive, was a WWII Navy Veteran who became a Cubs fan when he was at boot camp at Great Lakes. He had a pact with his Dad that if the Cubs ever made it to the World Series, they would watch it together but he passed away in 1980 at the age of 53. He kept his promise and brought a chair, a flashlight and streamed the game through his phone until the very end.
